Celebrating Our 2026 Bill Lockley Scholarship Recipient

The Bellingen Youth Orchestra is delighted to announce Claude as the recipient of the 2026 Bill Lockley Scholarship.

At just 12 years of age, Claude has demonstrated a genuine passion for music, a strong commitment to developing his skills, and an enthusiasm for learning that reflects the spirit of this scholarship. The Bill Lockley Scholarship is awarded to support the growth of a promising young musician, helping to remove barriers and encourage continued musical development.

Claude plans to use the scholarship to purchase a new violin case, providing practical support as he continues his musical journey.

Reflecting on receiving the scholarship, Claude shared:

“I feel honoured to receive this award. It has helped me feel more confident and comfortable performing on stage, and I am excited to use the scholarship towards a new violin case to support my playing. I am very grateful to everyone who has been involved in this process—especially Rob Stockton for making this possible and the Bellingen Youth Orchestra for guiding and supporting me along the way. I hope this scholarship inspires others, as it has inspired me, to continue their musical journey.”
