Despite the Covid restrictions impacting their operations over the past two years, Camp Creative have continued to be active supporters of their community! Last weekend the 2022 Bill Lockley Scholarship was awarded to violinist Heather Webb. The annual scholarship is awarded to a young string player in memory of Bill Lockley, one of Camp Creative’s founders and himself an avid violin player. This year, Heather has entered Bellingen High School from Orama Primary, as well has moved into the Bellingen Youth Orcestra from the BYO String School – what an exciting time of growth for her! The scholarship recognises her drive, determination and commitment to music. Camp Creative have supported the BYO since its inception and they continue to find ways to ensure a creative energy and a love of music is fostered in our community. Heather recently attended State Music Camp, graduated from Grade 5 Suzuki Violin and was one of the supporting soloists at last week’s BYO String School Serenade Concert. Well done Heather!
