BYO relish the opportunity to provide a range of different experiences to our players.
One such experience recently saw 8 of our BYO students escaping the rain by attending the ‘Kendall Sting Workshops’. This fantastic workshop at the Kendall School of Arts, was made possible with the financial support from the Kendall Op shop. Led by Artistic Director (Kendall National Violin Competition) Dr. Goetz Richter, our BYO players covered important concepts and fundamentals of playing and introduced effective ways of learning and practice. Dr. Goetz Richters playing experience includes, not but is certainly not limited to, positions including a fifteen-year tenure as Associate Concertmaster with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra (1987-2002) early career positions as Associate Principal Violin II with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (1986-87) and Concertmaster of the Queensland Theatre Orchestra (1985-1986). Also presenting at the workshop was Associate Professor in Collaborative Piano, Dr. Jeanell Carrigan. Thank you to Amber Davis, BYO Sinfonia Director for supporting our players at this event.
Another exceptional opportunity for our young players in a rural town!
