What is your role in the Bellingen Youth Orchestra Ensembles?
I am currently a tutor for the Viola section of the BYOSS. I have been associated with the BYO as a Flute and Viola tutor since its inception.
What are some of your musical achievements?
I have worked in numerous musical ensembles, including “Ibis”, “Zanuba”, a middle eastern quintet, and currently, “Silkweed” a music themed multimedia ensemble. I have performed in numerous commercial venues and music festivals around the country. I have also spent ten years as the resident musician in the Bellingen Playback Theatre Company and was a co-founder of the Coffs Harbour Conservatorium.
What do you love about playing music?
Music transports me to a level of expression where time ceases to exist. It is with great joy that I can play a small part in passing my love of music on to the next generation.
What inspired you to teach music in Bellingen?
I was drawn to the Bellingen Shire over 30 years ago due to the beauty of the Valley and to be part of a creative, dedicated team of people working in music and the Arts.
