The Bellingen Youth Orchestra are very excited to announce the successful submission of a grant to the FRR (Foundation for Rural Renewal). This grant will help to develop volunteer management policies and guidelines that cover the whole volunteer cycle, with approval from the Chairman and existing BYO committee and artistic team.
The grant will also assist in sustaining the BYO by assisting with the cost of a website. This website will ensure that the BYO can continue to engage with the local community and beyond to ensure broader groups of community members are kept up to date with BYO events. It will also support the sharing of opportunities for community to attend orchestral musical events, usually only offered in regional or city centers. Most importantly, it will provide opportunities for new players to discover the BYO and seek information and apply for auditions with the intention of becoming a part of the BYO community.
Given these challenging times and the inability to do what we love, play music and support our youth in their musical endeavors, we are excited that we can at least have the financial support to launch our new website. We hope you love it as much as we do!
‘FRRR provides funding and capacity building support at the hyper-local level. We have reach, relationships, networks, and know-how to align funding, big and small, to community-led solutions that build resilience and long-term viability and vitality of smaller remote, rural, and regional communities across Australia.’
Thank you FRRR!😍
